Monmouth University is committed to building its reputation for excellence in teaching and learning by providing an environment that is highly personalized and interdisciplinary. Monmouth University will serve as the high-value alternative delivering a world-class, personalized education to our students and friends, worldwide.

Build and increase recognition as a national leader at integrating excellence and access.

  • Coordinate outreach and marketing efforts focused on telling our story with a special emphasis on highlighting student, faculty, and alumni success.
  • Closely monitor our relative position in various rankings and ratings to ensure our continued commitment to both excellence and access.
  • Conduct a review of department and division led communication strategies, practices, and structure with the goal of synergizing while still meeting the needs of diverse audiences.
  • Upgrade and audit website content as an important way to tell the Monmouth story to our external constituents and to enhance user experience.

Utilize Division I Athletics and the Centers as a way to garner an increasingly national reputation of Monmouth University.

  • Develop an increasingly national reputation through our first-rate Division I athletics program and our strong relationship with ESPN.
  • Identify ways to take full advantage of our coveted role as the official host of the Bruce Springsteen Archives and Center for American Music.
  • Leverage national reach and reputation of our Institutes, including: the Polling Institute, Urban Coast Institute, Kislak Real Estate Institute, the Center for the Arts, and the Institute for Global Understanding.

Enhance our institutional commitment as a partner and resource for our surrounding local, regional, and state communities.

  • Invest in and become an emerging leader in sustainable practices.
  • Centralize and coordinate community-facing volunteering and service partnerships beyond service learning, including one-time and sustained opportunities for student volunteering.
  • Explore partnerships within the local and regional community in order to support education, business, healthcare, social tourism, and cultural activities within our region, all in an effort to enhance our reputation as a regional asset.
  • Reimagine a campus-wide entrepreneurship initiative that would serve as a resource both for members of the Monmouth University community (e.g., students, faculty, staff, and alumni) and for members of the Monmouth County community.
